Burt has been with Michael Silver & Company since 1999. His prior experience includes seven years as an Internal Revenue Service field auditor in Chicago and San Francisco, and several years as a business management consultant primarily involved in tax planning, compliance, and management services for clients in the entertainment industry. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1964.

He is a tax partner specializing in the area of trust and estate planning for individuals. He is also involved in matters dealing with tax-exempt organizations, partnerships, and LLCs.
Burt is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and many other accounting organizations and groups.
